Would you send a gun to the UK to help defend a British home?

During the extreme violence of the recent London riots, Gun Rights Examiner David Codrea published a great article that asks a simple question: If Britain put out a plea for guns today, would you send them one?

There's a historical parallel to this, because when Britain was facing the terrible reality of a German invasion at the onset of World War II, that is exactly what Americans did. The British were staring annihilation straight in the face, with a terrifying shortage of small arms to protect themselves. The American Committee for Defense of British Homes was started, and asked ordinary American citizens to donate guns to the citizens of Britain.

British citizens willingly gave up their rights to self-defense not too long ago. If the UK government had made a similar plea last week to the one made 70 years ago, would you have answered that call?
